Christian Faur’s work is quite simply…amazing. I’ve often what the limits were of crayons. I’ve seen some incredible work by artist that use crayons as a coloring medium. Faur’s artwork, especially in this Crayon series, goes beyond your childhood coloring books. I find it hard to believe that he would have ever had any problems staying between the lines. His work blurs the line between the 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional planes and emerge as his own private language developed and based on systematic functions that embody his own unique style.
In his own words:
“In my work, I try to mimic these elegant structures of nature by developing systems of my own with which to express my thoughts and ideas, so that the medium and the message appear as one.”
