Following its great success in both Japan and London, the Hysteric Glamour label is making it’s much anticipated move into the Parisian market through Colette. The label and it’s creator, Nobuhiko Kitamura, are highly influenced by the American culture of the 60s and 70s. Take note of the “Waiting for the Sun” embroidery, though not stated could be in reference to the 3rd album by THE DOORS which was released in 1968 and became the band’s first and only number one album. Needless to say this particular piece, as well as other jackets in the Sping/Summer 2009 collection reflect military style blended with American grunge. In effect, the jacket instantly becomes vintage cool and easily wearable. Hopefully your pockets are deep ‘cuz it’s gonna cost you. Exclusiveness ain’t cheap.
