CREATIVE ROAD BLOCK
I’ve hit a little creative road block the past week. I’ve had a couple of different projects to work on, but they weren’t incredibly inspiring. I got slightly disappointed with one of my assignments. I just wasn’t “getting it.” I don’t know if it was miscommunication on my end or what, but every revision I did just did not work. As a designer you gotta just shake that off, don’t take it personal and move on. It’s supposed to be “just work”, but I can’t help but obsess slightly over what I missed…what didn’t I get?
I think my feelings of uncertainty have carried over into my new project. When this happens I usually just pull out a pen and start scribblin’ on scrap pieces of paper. I guess it’s my way of trying to get out of the creative slump that I’m in. Nothing ever too serious, just movement. There’s no real point, or method to the madness…I just start drawing and I’ll keep going until I run out of paper, the ink finally gives out, I grow bored or it sparks some creative fluid into my vegetative mind. I need another piece of paper…

On a more inspiring note, my co-worker brought me some interesting things from her trip to the Philippines. That’s good people. She got me some liquor and the Philippines version of FHM. That makes for good times.
