NA LIFE
The Google visit

google
My cousin who works at Google invited myself and PINK to have dinner with her at one of Google’s famed eateries. We chose to eat at the cafe that had a variety of foods. There was so much to choose from, we felt like we were at a buffet in Las Vegas. As I always do at buffets I loaded up my plate with a little bit of everything. I guess you could say I was feeling a little lazy, but not so. I just didn’t want to have to get up after I started to grub. By the time I got done making my selections I had a pretty significant pile on my plate I had: Stir-fry shrimp with rice, Tofu sushi rolls with some greens, Hot links, Crackers with brie cheese and some Asian noodles. For desert I had a couple of coconut Madeleines, some melted marshmallow-cake thing, and two pecan tarts. Frickin awesome! The best part is that it was all FREE! The Google employees eat like this everyday M-Th, breakfast, lunch and dinner. NICE! Feeling a little jealous? I am too.

We got to take a little tour of the campus and got an inside look at the common “visitor-oriented” common areas with the buildings. They get a lot of free food, snacks, drinks. It seemed like everywhere we went there was an availability of snacks. It was like your company buildings vending machine except you didn’t need to look for change in your backpack or in the deep lint set in your pockets. It was all FREE. No wonder there were still so many people at work at it was close to 7pm. You literally don’t have to do any of your own cooking M-Th if you work here.

Everything was also so “secretive”. Lots of signs posted where “visitors” were not allowed. There were literally signs posted up with the word “VISITOR” inside a red circle with the red diagonal strike-through. I felt like a cigarette inside a California restaurant. The walk-through from building to building was a little confusing. It all felt like things were in disarray. The end of our visit brought us back to the visitor check-in area, but I couldn’t even tell it was one. A bit confusing, but oh well. I guess if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Later,
GREEDY

KIDROBOT MUNNYWORLD MEGACONTEST’S “MOST INNOVATIVE”

I know I’m a little late posting this considering the fact that it’s been about a week since I received word that my MunnyWorld MegaContest entry, ELEVATE, was the overall winner in the “Most Innovative” category. It’s not “Best of Show” but I can’t hate on the overall winner, his work was dope and really [...]

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM: PAINT & FINISH

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM: PAINT & FINISH

I think that the hardest part about creating this Munny is that in the end I have to give it away. I consider that my love hate relationship with myself. I’m not too worried about it though because PROJECT RUN LIKE MIKE will have a happy home…

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM: PRIMER & PINHOLES

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM: PRIMER & PINHOLES

I’m pretty happy with the sculpting and sanding of the pieces I added to the munny thus far, so I’m moving on to the first stage of primer. I use this first stage to expose the pinholes that are difficult to see in the finished clay. See the detailed images after the jump…

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM (IMAGE UPDATE)

Added additional sculpey pieces to shape out the character wardrobe a bit. Some designers just paint this stuff on and that’s cool too. I think that adding a slight bit of dimension whether it’s in the face, the hair or clothing gives it that extra “COOL FACTOR” and we all love cool. More images after the jump…

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM

N.A. STUDIO – PROJECT RLM

I got asked to break open a new box of Sculpey and start creating a custom munny that should be completed this week. It’s a fairly simple custom and I’m pretty meticulous about getting edges crisp and plane surfaces smooth so a couple hits with the sandpaper and this should be good for primer. I’ll post more images as I move along…

THE BP OIL DISASTER

So the BP screw up still isn’t fixed and it doesn’t seem like anyone has a f*ckin’ clue how to stop the environmental disaster.
