PINK asked me if I wanted a toki-doki shirt and at first I was like “WTF? Me?” Don’t get me wrong, I really dig the toki-doki japanisme style illustrations by Simone Legno, and PINK has a number of the toki-doki bags and shirts. I just don’t wear the shirts. I may just be paranoid or rather, overly image conscious, but when I think toki-doki I can’t help but associate the art with girls. Other guys I’ve talked to say the same thing. Is it bad to think this? No. Shit, Simone is doing nothing but living the dream, making art that people love, and stacking mad money. Anybody got a problem with that? I don’t.
Anyways, back to my story. So PINK asked me if I wanted one and of course I said “Nah, I’m cool.” But then she said the magic words, “But it’s a LIMITED EDITION t-shirt.” So then I said “OK.” That’s right. You won’t be finding this shirt on a tabletop at your METROPARK or even on the toki-doki site. At least that’s what Yahoo! has been told. From what PINK has heard, these damn things are sold out in the Small and Mediums. They may reprint, but who knows. At least we both got one. Now, you won’t see me walking around in this, but I’ll never deny that I have one.
