It’s no mystery that Vinylmation collecting and trading continues to grow with each new set release from the Disney Design Group. With each new set comes another opportunity to go on the hunt, to be the first to blind box a chaser or variant and if nothing else but for the thrill of opening just one more box. Collectors do it “All For The Chase!” Whether you collect full sets, limited editions, variants or specific characters, one thing remains true—there is no one correct way to collect, just have fun and collect what you want.
As a graphic designer and Vinylmation collector myself I found inspiration for this design while studying the packaging. Just look at any Vinylmation case tray or blind box and you will notice that the “Mystery Chaser” is defined by a black silhouette figurine with the large question mark. Our custom version of this absent collector figure features the large iconic question mark on the front and a winking Mickey with the words “All For The Chase!” on the back. The addition of this custom figure into any Vinylmation collection creates a truly “complete” set. This is a first in a series I plan to make so check back regularly.
I got into the Vinylmation collecting late and missed out on a number of the early figurines. Now I’m playing catch-up and our collection is growing…slowly.
