Let’s face it, without Mickey Mouse Disneyland is just another theme park. The same can be said for Vinylmation’s–without the original Mickey mold, it’s just another vinyl. The more we focused on that theory, the clearer our design of our second custom vinylmation became. It simply states that Mickey is “The Blueprint” for all things vinylmation and we believe that a lot of collectors have equal if not stronger belief in that.
We’re disappointed to hear that the original mold will be replaced by the “chipmunk” mold. A big part of the nostalgia and appeal for us was that whether or not you had a blank “Create Your Own” or any of the series vinylmation’s, Mickey was apparent. He could stand alone, naked of any artistic application and still look cool. It doesn’t matter what the reasoning is for the change….it’s just never going to be the same.
