GET WIDE. BE EAZY.
Been staying up pretty late the last couple of days. A lot has changed on the Newborn Apple website. In fact, I believe the look of the site has changed two or three times since I upgraded to Wordpress 2.7.

Just got back from LA last night. Attended a baby shower for PINK’s cousin (A1 or A2, she has a twin so I don’t know which one was born first, but for my purposes she’ll be A1.) So on Friday night A1 & A2, PINK, and BadonkeyKONG were up late baking cupcakes, slapping on white icing and sprinkling blue sugar while in between building the diaper cake…
Things have been a little crazy for me the past couple of weeks. Had this work project that damn near sucked the life out of me. The client didn’t provide much clarity and was incredibly indecisive. It was hard on a number of us at work. The project encompassed a lot of things from print material (postcards and posters), an online web experience and even the design of an in-store display…
I didn’t realize how involved updating the current installation of WP 2.6 would be. You see, the Newborn Apple blog doesn’t just come pre-packaged like this. It’s based on WordPress templates and scripts that need to be implemented into a web server. In order for the website and all it’s cool plugins and blogging capabilities to work someone has to create the backend (this is all the PHP, AJAX, JAVAscript, etc) coding that makes it all run in the server. I don’t write code. I do more frontend (CSS, HTML etc) design.
Had another late night. Headed up to Hercules at around 7pm to help my mom prep around 50 Rockafella Oysters for AJ’s birthday party today. Didn’t realize how much work that was going to be. We had to clean them (the act of scrubbing the residual soot and dirt off of these by hand) and had raisined fingers and tender palms by the end of it all.
I usually park a couple blocks away from work. It’s not like I want to, I just don’t really have a choice. All the parking closer to my work has a 2-hour limit then I gotta have the sense to move the car around to another spot or get the a $30 parking ticket. The company I work for used to pay for the parking tickets because parking just sucks.
YUP. You read that right. The SNEAK is coming. If you’ve seen the past two SNEAKs then you have been reading about our progress for quite some time. That’s a good thing, and a bad thing. Good: because you’ve been a fan of Newborn Apple and we’re thankful for the support.
That’s a lot of giant, shiney and uber-loud ass stickers. YeeeEEE! Later, GREEDY Newborn Apple™
My cousin TRIXX and PINK’s brother (aka Mr. 24, aka Extra-Medium, aka Magna RX) are both celebrating birthdays today. That’s right, on this day more than a quarter century ago, both their mothers lay in different hospital beds in different countries, praying for the pain to end. They lay for hours in labor and agony waiting patiently for the doctor to administer the epidural, although I could be wrong.
I don’t normaly donate money to charities or global causes. I don’t really know why, well, I do know why. I just think it’s a better excuse for me than trying to come up with one. For some reason today I just felt guilty paying the $4 for my coffee and muffin, when that same amount of money could contribute to the empowerment of entrepreneurial women in poorer countries.
My mom threw myself and PINK and small birthday party shin-dig yesterday. Nothing big, just family. I got to see cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Although I love seeing how much “taller and older” my younger cousins get I can’t help but be reminded that I am getting…older. It’s not something I think about constantly. [...]
I wanted to wait and see how this whole Chris Brown and Rihanna shit played out before I decided to post about this. Nobody had any real answers, just concerns and speculations. I no longer need to wonder…I guess the proof is in the pudding. Chris Brown is officially a FUCK-FACE in my book. These [...]
